Young Scientist Award (YSA)
A limited number of awards are available to assist young scientists from both developed and developing countries to attend the "2010 Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference" (AP-RASC'10).
To qualify applications for the Young Scientist Award (YSA), the applicant
- must be under 35 years of age on October 1, 2010;
- should have a paper, of which he/she is the principal author, submitted and accepted for oral or poster presentation at a regular session of AP-RASC'10.
Applicants should also be interested in promoting contacts between developed and developing countries. Applicants from all over the world, including regions that do not (yet) belong to URSI, are welcome.
Applications should be completed electronically using the "Paper Submission Form" at this website by the deadline of March 31, 2010. Every YSA applicant must submit his/her
- one-page abstract;
- full-length paper (4 pages);
- CV;
- list of publications,
all in PDF format simultaneously via the Paper Submission webpage. In the preparation of full-length papers, the applicants should follow the instructions given in the sample file.

Successful applicants will receive
- free registration;
- free banquet ticket;
- free accommodation covering the full conference duration.
Basic accommodation will be provided by the AP-RASC'10 organizers. The YSA awardees may arrange alternative accommodation but such arrangements are entirely at their own expenses. Limited funds will also be available as contributions to travel costs of young scientists from developing countries.
Applications will be peer-reviewed by the AP-RASC'10 YSA Committee. All applicants will be notified of the results of the review process by email on May 31, 2010. Successful applicants must confirm that they will attend the Conference. It is also required that all the successful applicants attend the Conference Banquet on September 24, 2010, where they will each receive a certificate. Awards will also be announced on the AP-RASC'10 website (http://www.ap-rasc10.jp/) and the URSI website (http://www.ursi.org) at the beginning of June 2010.
